The tenth annual Waynestock took place on September 10, 2011. Hundreds of people, both young and old, enjoyed music, food and great weather. This free event always draws a healthy crowd, despite its lack of advertising.

Waynestock is basically a block party. It's organized by Mahaffey's Pub owner Wayne Mahaffey, who spends many hours coordinating the event, obtaining the necessary permits, and paying fees levied by the City of Baltimore. Many locals walk to it, and many others arrive from outside the city.

Lots of great microbrews and imports were available, both inside and outside Mahaffey's Pub.

Three bands entertained the crowd. The first, call the Shrapnels, was just breaking into the music scene. The other two have played at past Waynestocks: Caffeine, and Black Falls.

Upstairs at Mahaffey's Pub, members of the local homebrew club Cross Street Irregulars gathered to enjoy some brews and get an aerial view of the event.

The party started at noon and went until after midnight. People danced, enjoyed great craft brews, saw old friends and made new ones.

Both kids and adults danced.

Waynestock is one of Baltimore's best kept secrets. It's a great time, it features some of the best music and beer around, and it's free!
